A very good ancient Egyptian carved alabaster or travertine vessel dating to the Old Kingdom period, c. 2686-2181 BCE. The piece was acquired from an important Bel Air collection c. 1990, but it had originally been purchased from Sotheby's at auction in the early 1970's and still retains its original auction label (see image).
