Small Roman Bronze Lion Protome, Foreparts of a Leaping Lion. Ca. 1st - 2nd Century Century CE. 2 1/2" high x 2 1 2/" long, by 1 1/2" wide. On custom stand bronze is 3 1/2" high. Leaping lion with forelegs extended. Wide eyes and curly mane. Lolling tongue and open mouth exposing fangs. Missing left foot but otherwise in excellent condition.
