Set of Eight Luristan Bronze Zoomorphic Bells, Ancient Iran, ca. 1000 - 800 BCE, Found in the Holy Land. Various shapes and sizes of bronze cage bells with birds, rams and other animals. Four on individual custom lucite stands while four miniature bells on one custom lucite stand. All in excellent condition. Ex: Teddy Kollek collection. First Mayor of Unified Jerusalem. Bronzes of Luristan, the accepted term for a distinct body of metalwork produced in the first half of the first millennium B.C. and characterized by a wide range of idiosyncratic forms and a highly stylized conception of human and animal representation.
