Early 19th Century Hand Carved French Religious Statue

This is a very nice looking tall French hand carved wood religious statue that dates to the early 1800's. The face and hair have been painted giving the statue a very realistic look. The carver was very talented. The proportions of the face and body are very accurate. The hand is a separate piece that inserts into the sleeve. It is very common for the hands to be stolen, so it is somewhat rare to have the hand as this statue does. The tip of one of the fingers is missing. There is a covered cavity in the back of the statue that may or may not hold a relic. The relics are often stolen so it is a real bonus to have the back cover intact.
