English George III Style Mahogany Breakfront Bookcase
Classic and very large example of the best Chippendale style breakfront bookcase. The quality of the carving, hand blown glass glazing and the mahogany makes this an exceptionally good example. Pieces like these where inspired by the buildings of ancient Rome and Greece. They are first seen in England about 1760. They where used as bookcases. Today they tend to be used in important dining and living rooms. These cabinets are very useful as they offer such a beautiful way to store and display a large number of things.
