French 19th Century Fruitwood Bibliotheque
An exceedingly beautiful fruitwood bibliotheque with glass front doors. Made in France in 1880, this bookcase stands just under eight feet tall. An arched crest with classic, modest carvings rises above the case's two glass front doors. These lockable doors retain their original wavy glass and are flanked by fluted quarter columns. Behind these doors are four adjustable shelves, measuring 11"D, perfect for displaying your books or collectibles. Below are two more lockable doors that conceal a storage cavity containing two adjustable shelves that measure 14 3/4"D. The fruitwood bears a warm and welcoming, honeyed caramel color and aged patina. c.1880.
