Antique 19th Century Russian Neoclassical Two-Door Bookcase
A spectacular antique, early 19th century, Russian neoclassical bookcase, the molded cornice with stepped top and ormolu banded frieze, atop a conforming cabinet fitted with two glaze-panel doors and shelving interior, flanked to either side by ormolu mounted fluted uprights, all raised by short squared tapering legs ending in pegged feet. The interior having two lower drawers. This piece is a fine example of the style and workmanship reminiscent of the Russian neoclassical period. Certainly this bookcase cabinet would make a fine addition to any library or setting the home. Part of an extensive collection of Russian neoclassical home furnishings.
