19th c. French plate rack from the Manche Province of Normandy. Made of solid cherry and chestnut, this "dressoir" was used to display and store plates and has a bottom pierced dry sink. It has two dovetailed drawers to store utensils and once had nine hooks (missing) along the top shelf for cups. Very study, with all pegged construction, this is a great quality antique. There is restoration on the feet, a good sign that it is an old piece. Overall dimensions: 88.5"h x 48.75"w x 15"d. The dry sink is 13"d, the inside shelves are 7"d x 14.5"h and the top shelf is 16"h. As always, more photos available upon request. We have a large selection of French antiques.
