Three-drawer Italian Antique Empire Period Walnut Chest
Early 19th century three-drawer Empire chest with neoclassical details including original bronze ancient roman faces, ebonized columns and plinth legs. Walnut “radica” veneer is featured on the entire piece. The ebonized columns with gilded wood trim support the cantilevered top drawer. The original escutcheons are classical wreaths. The straight lines of this piece work well with modern interiors as well as classic old world ones. We envision this piece making a bold statement in an entry but could be used in a bedroom or dining room.
