18th Century Louis XVI Mahogany Marble Top Commode
A fine Louis XVI marble top commode with a marble top from the 18th century. This three drawer commode is resting on tapered fluted legs with a brass toe cap. The marble is shaped to follow the rounded corner post which have a brass mount at the top. There is a brass trim piece on three sides under the first drawer, which is divided with brass mounts giving the appearance of three individual drawers. Nice brass pulls and escutcheons adorn the front. The side paneled with mahogany and banded with an ebonized wood. This applies to some of the front but its decorated with a plum pudding mahogany. The marble is a white veined marble with no breaks.
