Late Biedermeier Chest of Drawers in Mahogany, c. 1840
HIGHBOY EXCLUSIVE listing at $3950 reduced to $3160 only on the HighBoy
In great condition this Swedish mid century (19th century that is ) is a transitional cabinet between late Biedemeier and Louis Phillipe. The Louis Phillipe movement that I am refering to is the Northern European style that reached its purest form about 1865. The feet give the chest away as Scandinavian but the form could otherwise be German. Beautiful book matched mahogany veneers on the drawer fronts.
Late Biedermeier chest with three drawers in mahogany and flame mahogany veneers resting on carved lion's paw feet, Sweden, c. 1840.
