19th Century French Vaisselier in Cherry, circa 1880
The French would have used this piece in the kitchen or dining room and would have stored their plates leaning forward against the bars on the upper shelves. These days we often see collections of pottery pitchers, pewter, and plates on the shelves. The cherry is a lovely warm color with a very nice patina. There is a good amount of storage in the lower half and spacious shelves above for display.
