"Visage Brun-Bleu" by Pablo Picasso, White Earthenware Clay with Englobes Decoration, 1947
A slight smile and bright eyes pop against the blue and brown of this ceramic plate by the famous Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. Picasso was a prolific artist, whose works in ceramics have recently come back into vogue with a major show at the Museum of Modern Art (NYC) in 2015. This ceramic work is made of white earthenware clay, decoration in englobes, and stamped by Madoura. Edition: 16/200. It is mounted in a black wood frame with matching backing, using conservation materials.
