Rare Majolica ‘’Chinaman & coconut’’ Teapot by Joseph Holdcroft


This very finely made earthenware teapot portrays a Chinaman climbing on a on a coconut, his head forming the cover. The spout forms the stalk while the handle is modeled as a twig.

The teapot is not marked but is a well recorded design by Joseph Holdcroft, measurement length 9 ¾ x 7 ½ inches height (circa 1870)
