Unlike other continental potteries, the Mollica Company used the applying technique consisting of flower fruit and Neapolitan figures. The first Neapolitan manufacturer ‘’Mollica’’ was founded by Giovanni Mollica, Pasquale’s child, already a potter near ‘’Real Fabbrica Ferdinandea’’ in 1842. Led by Giovanni’s children, the manufacturer becomes one of the most important of southern Italy.

The manufacturer produced majolica vases until the early 1900’s. Mollica vases of this type are considered to be among the best for the period and are highly collectible
