Large Japanese Imari Bowl c. 1900, Polychrome
Well-scaled 13" diameter antique bowl. Japanese, hand-painted in a full range of colors - cobalt blue and iron red, along with dark and light green, pale yellow and some gilding. Scalloped edge and slightly lobed form. Fine antique condition - there is wear to some of the color, particularly the gold on top of blue, but no cracks or chips. From about 1900.
Fresh colors, with an intriguing asymmetrical design. Add color and worldly design to a table or shelf, or this could hold centerpiece flowers or fruit.
