English Tall Case Clock by George Slater Circa, 1830
English Tall Case Clock by George Slater in Mahogany, c. 1830
A fine tall-case clock, with the signature on the painted dial of "George Slater, Burslem". In beautiful figured and crotch, book-matched mahogany with brass ball finials and eagle on split-pediment top, and turned columns flanking dial case and door, and resting on bracket feet. The case and the movement have been restored and the clock is in good working order. Burslem is one of the five towns that make up Staffordshire (formerly Stoke on Kent).
