19th Century Gorham Copper and Silver Case
This is a gorgeous antique case made of copper and silver, made by Gorham Manufacturing Co. around 1880. It retains its beautiful original patina, a deep rust yet vibrant color that comes from its old age. Applied in silver on one side is an Asian figure in traditional garb, standing next to an over-sized burst of flowers growing out of the ground. The case is in great condition. The lid fits snugly, but there are some minor dents on the back side. It can be used to hold cigarettes, notes, or other personal items.
It measures 3" x 2" x 3/4". The back has this engraving: "To Robert P. Linderman from Chapter II October 15, 1884."
