Austrian Mid-Century Shoehorn in Brass and Leather by Carl Auböck
This mid-century modern shoehorn is cleverly fashioned in leather and brass by the masterful Viennese designer Carl Auböck (1900-57). The object's shape is that of an elongated shoe with a brass heel that is meant to be used as a handle. Auböck received four gold medals at the Triennal di Milano in 1954 amongst many other accolades. The shoehorn was obtained directly from the estate of fellow creative, Bert Miripolsky, a dear friend of Auböck. Please see the other Auböck objects in our collection.
