English 19th Century White Ironstone Sauce Tureen with Under Plate and Ladle
White ironstone sauce tureen with under plate and ladle in "New York Shape’ a pattern potted up by Joseph Clementson of Hanley, England. This pattern has large scrolling loops and leaves within the loops, the lid has what is called “crouching split pod” finial and the handles or lugs as they’re called on tureens are in a “half-flower” pattern. This piece is fully signed on the bottom of the under plate with a diamond-shaped registry mark of the pattern name, maker and date of December 27, 1861. The ladle is not original to this tureen and is a little whiter in appearance. NO cracks or hairlines!

CONDITION: Couple of light brown stains from grease entering the pores, can be bleached out. Slight crazing all that are consistent with age.
