White Ironstone "Sydenham" Pattern Sauce Tureen with Ladle
A white ironstone sauce tureen in a hard to find "Sydenham" pattern one of the early pieces potted up by T&R Boote, Thomas and Richard, in Burslem England. This piece has a tulip-shaped lid found on the round tureens with vertical scroll or lug handle with leaf motif on the knob, the finial is called floral acorn and the whole piece is lightly tinted blue. This piece is fully signed on the bottom with a diamond-shaped registry mark of the pattern name, maker and date of September 3, 1853. This piece comes with a ladle that is in “Chinese” shape, the ladle itself is whiter then the tureen. Both sauce tureen and ladle are in mint condition.
