19th Century French Tian Bowl
This bowl is reminiscent of one that might be seen in an old country French house. French tian bowls were used as a general kitchen bowl for everything from cooking cassoulets to storing fruits and vegetables to mixing batters to making cheese. They are very decorative as a center piece on a table overflowing with vegetables or floral arrangements. I have a large selection of different sized bowls. The one I have photographed is a nice example of a larger tian bowl. It has both handles.
