Dutch Fruit Wood & Ebony Bucket Wine Cooler / Jardiniere
Fine early 19th-Century Dutch hand made bucket with original brass liner. Hand made of fruit wood and ebony. Handle extended adds 6" to height. It is useful as a lovely wine cooler or jardiniere. These antique buckets were tea buckets originally, used for keeping tea kettles warm, as a brazier containing a bed of smoldering charcoal within the brass liner, over which a tea kettle was kept. In Dutch they are called 'Teestoof'.
