Charming English Tole Painted Nautical Bathtub

An incredibly charming 19th c. British tole painted bathtub, or wash basin, decorated with two dueling sailors flanking an 18th c. gunship that is flying the Union Jack. At the top is noted the date '1841', at the bottom the name of the ship 'H.M.S. Warrior' and the mysterious initials 'JR' in a cursive font. This appears to be a commemorative piece, the tub possibly used on the ship and then painted sometime after the ship was broken up in 1857.

A whimsical and highly decorative 'statement' piece sure to complement a wide array of decors and spark endless conversations
