Monumental Red Marble and Bone Decorative Tabletop Dish by Jonson and Marcius
Incredibly quality, weighty and substantial tabletop dish, manufactured, circa 1970s by Gene Jonson and Robert Marcius. Top surface reveals octagonal Red Jasper (semi Precious stone) and chrome bowl inset bowl, veneered in exotic bone around the sides. Markings include original maker's label [Jonson & Marcius], to the bottom. Great period piece for your coffee table. Beginning in the 70s, Jonson and Marcius, supplied Bergdorf Goodman, Henri Bendel and Bloomingdale's with jewelry and Karl Springer with accessories, furniture and sculptures. Cartier featured a line of lacquered and chromed metal boxes inlaid with metal and semiprecious stones designed and manufactured by Jonson and Marcius and Tiffany featured a sculpture of a pair of five foot cranes embellished with gold accents and mother of pearl wings also designed and manufactured by Jonson and Marcius.
