A simply beautiful 18th century polychrome and gilt tabernacle or altar cabinet from Portugal. Beautifully constructed with turned columnar supports and an arched pediment. The tabernacle is decorated with wheat - symbolic of love and charity and the body of Christ. Also, to the base of the door, there is a wonderful putti - or angel and faux marble painting throughout.
