Early 20th-Century large English, brass, and horn table gong with the original striker. This Edwardian gong is bound with brass and is raised on an oak plinth. The gong has a lovely melodious sound when struck. In Edwardian England, the first footman would sound the gong at 7 p.m. to alert the family and their guests that it was time to go up to dress for dinner. My grandchildren love sounding our gong on special occasions!
