Austrian Amphora Art Nouveau Vase with Rose Decoration

This is a large, Amphora Pottery Vase from Austria. It is a large globular shaped form with 4 openings at the top. The central gilded opening is 3 1/2" in diameter with three smaller gilded openings that raise above at an equal height with the diameters of 1 1/2" each. It has the feeling of a larger beaker that is decorated with yellow roses and leaves with a mottled matt glaze in the background. The bold black outline defines the piece. It is a great piece that uses glaze, color and form in a striking way. It is in excellent condition, no chips, cracks or issues, minor wear to the gilt rim. The bottom is marked Amphora 3889 44 and Austria as well as an impressed crown and the original paper Amphora paper label. It measures 9 1/4" high by 8" in diameter at the widest point. Lovely piece of Amphora Art Pottery circa 1900.
