An elegant opal pendant-brooch from the late19th Century. The brooch is unmarked, 14 kart gold, measuring 1 inch in diameter, and featuring 7 beautiful opal gemstones. The design of the brooch is reminiscent of an exquisite flower, with orbiting organic forms. The gemstones have a nice watery opaqueness with a glowing range of soothing colors. The stone is named after the qualities it exhibits; in Greek the word "opallios,” means “to see a change of color.” When worn, the brooch, or pendant radiates with the highly creative and nurturing qualities of the opal. The central moonstone measures 4mm and the surrounding gems are 3mm each. One of the small surrounding opals has a small chip where the prong is, but this is not visible to the naked eye. Opal is said to be a stone for love, making this piece a perfect give for someone you love. Opal is also the birthstone for the month of October, and it is also the stone given to celebrate the 14th year of marriage. The pendant is ready to hang on a chain of your choice.
