Antique French Natural Gray Peal Flower Earrings
A lovely and rare pair of natural grey pearl earrings, set into 18KT gold that lines the pearls with dotted gold in the form of petals. The pair of earrings are quite lovely, as they take the elegant and feminine form of a flower. They latch and hook onto the top, which is a very old style of clasp earring. The mark on the back of the earrings is a French gold mark which was used circa 1860-1880. This pair of earrings is quite superb in quality and craftsmanship. The pearls match very nicely, which is rare amongst natural forming pearls. They are in great condition for their age. The pearls are luminous and have a beautiful gray color; it wasn't until the 1890s that cultured pearls were being manufactured so these date to early 19th century. They are 1/2 an inch in overall size, with oval shaped pearls that measure one centimeter at their longest width. They are light, and feel great when worn. A nice pair to add to any collection, truly stunning in person and when worn. A classic piece of jewelry.
