Renaissance Revival Lapis stone and Pearl 14K Gold Ring
This gorgeous lapis rock 14 karat gold ring is decorated with 10 soft and luminous round pearls. The gold wire work of this piece of jewelry is truly remarkable. Dating back to the 1890s, when Renaissance Revival was in fashion, the ring displays some of the lavish ornamentation, bold gem designs, the detailed twirling gold bands, and a hint towards the natural. Renaissance Revival was a popular style under Queen Victoria; the majority of Revival jewelry was created between 1860 and 1910 in work shops in Austria-Hungary, where lapis was found. The central lapis is a beautiful deep blue, which stands in the center of the design and from it radiate and orbit each of the round pearls. These pearls are strung together by a weaving of gold wire, which makes this ring stand out. Part sun, part flower, this ring is very regal looking, and elegant. The lapis cabochon is 6mm and the pearls are 3mm each. Even the band of this ring is tripled, and ends in the curling of gold wires. The ring is very elegant, a perfect example of 19th Century European taste and love for the Renaissance. Fits a ring size of 4. It can be resized if necessary.
