A rare, early 20th century felt Mexican Sombrero, circa 1910-1920
A rare early 20th century felt Mexican Sombrero. Finely made with gold thread banding and gold thread
cord. It is accented with two silver conchos depicting owls (wisdom.) The sombrero has a silk liner that was once loosely hand stitched and is now somewhat detached. It is red silk and bears the emblem of the Furnival Club of London which was founded in 1896. All on a custom stand. There are two small areas of moth damage on the brim and an old repair of the gold threaded banding.
