Modern Art Glass Vase, White Spiral, Teardrop Form
A handblown glass vase in a graceful teardrop shape with a swirl of opalescent white glass lines, 20th century. It has a tiny opening - good for just a stem or two, and looks beautiful empty. It is clear glass with a spiral of parallel white glass lines that make for a mesmerizing pattern because you can see both sides at once.
Great gift for a person who likes to style her shelves, arrange her coffee table, and change up her mantel (or his). This vase will fit into many types of decor and just about any color scheme. The color is neutral and the simple modern shape evokes raindrops and nature. At twelve inches tall this is a nice scale, and with its tapering form and transparent design it is light in presence.
In excellent condition - there are a couple tiny bubbles in the stripes that just underline that it is hand made. The swirls give the optical illusion in some photos that there may be a crack in the neck - no cracks - it is just the visual effect at some angles when the lines converge. Then move your head or the vase, and the lines move more. Dynamic and beautiful! Unsigned, the bottom is hand-struck. A product of the American art glass movement of the late 20th century.
