R. Lalique "Espalion" Glass Fern Vase with Grey Patina
An opalescent blue-gray Lalique vase with a gray patina on the surface of the glass. Its round bulbous form is soft and elegant, with a repeated flowing fern leaf pattern, typical of Rene Lalique's work. The vase is from 1927, made in France during the height of the Art Deco style. It has Lalique's signature on the bottom; it reads the words "R. Lalique France". Felt has been used to protect the base of this vase, and also covers the "R." it can be removed easily. It's a beautifully hand made piece of glass- you can see this in the small details of the artists hand, like in the imperfectly round rim.
