A beautiful René Lalique frosted glass plate in great condition, with the Rameaux Coupe organic pattern on the edge. This plate or bowl measures 2 inches high by 9.5 and 9.5 inches. The plate takes a square form, it is simple and elegant. Its mix of geometric design with flowing wreaths of leaves is one of Art Deco's quintessential designs. The wreath pattern is also reminiscent of a classical victory symbol. This plate dates to 1935, the height of Lalique's work; It's a beautiful example of Lalique's skills and design. René Lalique (1860-1945) was best known for luxury glassware items that helped define the aesthetics of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. Lalique’s glasswork initially became famous when he crafted a variety of elegant perfume bottles for France’s master perfumer François Coty; Lalique later produced numerous collectable and covetable glass vases.
