Large Saint-Louis "Thistle Gold" pattern crystal ice bucket. Acid etched Saint-Louis mark on bottom. The thistle was the original inspiration behind this service when it was created for the Nancy exhibition in 1908 at the height of the Art Nouveau movement. Retails for $1300-$1600.
Founded in 1586 in eastern France, Saint-Louis is the oldest "cristallerie" in Europe. Purveyors to French kings in the 18th century.
