Rare Signed Mdina Glass Decanters from Malta, Pair
A pair of circular hand blown Mdina glass decanters each with a hand blown spherical stopper from Malta c. 1970 featuring an intense shade of turquoise color and a signature on the base of each bottle. These unique pieces of glass were created by Michael Harris who opened the first glass factory in the town of Mdina in 1968. He combined the sensibility of the sea, sky and sand into the intensely iridescent colours for which Mdina glass is justly famous. These bottles and stoppers have the customary variations indicative of hand made pieces as well as a brilliant variation in the actual colours. Please enlarge the additional photographs provided to see these intriguing signs of hand craftsmanship as well as the etched identification on the underside of each decanter.
