A large stoneware jug with cobalt painted bird by O.L. & A.K. Ballard, converted to a lamp
A wonderful, 3 gallon salt-glazed stoneware jug with a rare loosely painted cobalt blue bird (possibly a parrot) by Orrin L. and Alfred K. Ballard, made in Burlington, Vermont c. 1860. The jug has been converted to a lamp, so it would make a fantastic edition to any decor with an emphasis on Americana or Primitives. The jug itself measures approximately 15.5" high and the total hight including base and lamp hardware comes out to about 39" high.
