19th Century Louis XVI style French Carved Period Mirror
Here is a wonderful water gilt French Mirror. It is 31 inches tall, 17 inches side, and 1 1/2 inches in depth . On the top of the mirror you will notice a basket with a French bow on the top. There is also an arrow going thru the basket. This is a very French style that has been used for centuries. On the bottom it appears to be pineapple motif that was considered for hospitality. The inside of the mirror is about 16 inches x 11 1/2 inches. There is a craved beaded edge that surrounds the mirror. Under the gilt paint they used a gesso, that would of been applied to the wood before the over coat was put on. This is a very cute nice period mirror. Please review all pictures or the age, and the condition. There is a few pieces that have flaked off which is expected with something this old.
