A pair of hand-carved circular painted framed mirrors found in the south of France

A pair of hand-carved and circular painted frames in the form of willow branches encircled with double lengths of cords that are crossed in an X-pattern at four equally spaced intervals found in the south of France. Please look at the terrific graphic detail that enhances the symmetrical design. Each frame has now been fitted with a hand-antiqued mirror glass that simulates the effect of the passage of time. These frames were originally destined for the interior decoration of a hotel, but were never installed and instead resided in a barn until their recent discovery.
