Hand Carved Chippendale Style Mirror - Early 20thc. Stripped Wood
A large, vigorously carved Chippendale style mirror from the early 20th c that can be custom finished for your design. It was a shiny cuckoo clock brown, so we had it stripped. It is now ready to be painted, (or you could hang it like this, though the wood color is uneven.) Calls to mind published pictures of the great mirror that designer Miles Redd had painted chalky white and hung on a turquoise wall. This could be white or handle other colors just as well. Note the dimensions - it is good-sized, (but not huge) nearly 5 feet tall and the crest comes out from the wall 7". Most of it is 2-2.5" deep. We can have it professionally painted for you in the color of your choice, for an additional fee, or you can arrange that on your end.
This is not a precious piece; rather it is a marvelous decorative item with great asymmetrical foliate carving, and an unmistakable handmade presence. You can have fun with this one!
