Jean Picart Le Doux, Vintage French Fabric Serigraphie Tapestry
This a spectacular Jean Picart Le Doux Serigraphie titled "le Soleil et la Vigne". This is a fabric print reproduction of the image created by Le Doux in Paris France, at the textile factory Henri Dupre & Cie a Hem in the 1950s. This heavy canvas print Serigraphie features nature imagery, such as birds and grapes, circling the sun, or central eye form, which evokes the themes of birth, life and mother nature. Based on a balanced and symmetrical design, the fire-eye takes the center stage and is flanked by vines. It measures 6 ft. 4 in by 4 ft. 10 inches. It has tapestry hooks on the back to easily hang the canvas print; the print is in great condition with its deep burgundy background, vibrating yellows and reds. It features the artists name of Jean Picart Le Doux on the bottom right and the shield makers mark on the bottom left. This is a really fantastic mid-century modern piece for the home that makes a bold statement!
