Emile Jacques was the eldest son of the renowned Barbizon painter Charles Emile Jacques (1813 -1894). He studied with his father and also the famous Jean Leon Gerome. His specialty was painting horses. Jacques received a medal for artistic achievement at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1889. He is listed in the Benezit Dictionary of Painters and La Cote des Peintres by Akoun. Original frame.
