Dwight Williams was born in Camillus, New York and was a self taught artist proficient at both pastel and oil painting. His talent was for capturing bucolic landscapes in his native up-state New York. He was also a competent marine painter and produced many nautical paintings before 1900. He was a member of the American Association of Arts, the Society of Independent Artists and Salons of America. He taught art privately and exhibited at the Louisiana Purchase Exposition at the St. Louis Fair of 1904. He also exhibited at the National Academy of Design, the Society of Independent Artists, and the Society of Washington Artists in Washington,DC. He died in Cazenovia, New York in 1932. This piece is unsigned and has been framed in a 22 karat gold frame. Our Item # 11944
