The grey house by Bernard Corey
Born in Grafton, MA, Bernard Corey was a self taught “plein-air” artist who established himself as a prolific painter of bucolic scenes capturing the Worcester and Blackstone Valley region. His particular genre of painting has been termed “Lost New England” as many of these areas have changed drastically over the years. Originally a house painter by trade, his natural talent earned him a place of high regard among his contemporaries and he eventually established a career as a full time artist. He was a member of the Allied Artists of America, the American watercolor society, Guild of Boston Artists, Salmagundi Club, and the American Artists League. This oil on board is not signed but has the estate label affixed to the back. Our Item # 13012
