Studied at in Budapest at the School of Drawing (Mintarajziskola), and France. Exhibited at the Palace of Art (Mucsarnok), and at the National Salon since 1896. Polgary also lived in the United States for a while. He is known for naturalistic and figurative works. Oil on canvas signed and dated 1894 lower left and inscribed Bpt. (Budapest). Depicting an evening interior scene with mother and child. The light source from the lamp produces a rather unique affect to this art work. Wrapped in a period restored 22K gild frame.
