JEAN-FRÉDÉRIC COUTY (1829-1904) ‘’Still life of cherries and almond’’ oil on canvas dated 1878 and signed lower left F. Couty, measurements 13 ¾ x 10 ¾ inches.

French painter born in Issoudun (Indre) in 1829, January 1st pupil of M. Billou. From 1863 he did exhibit his works at the ‘’Salon des Artistes’’. The high quality of Jean-Frederic Couty’s still lifes established his reputation by the late 19th century.
