Pierhead painter of many major ports around the Brittany in the 19th century, Alfred Leduc (Nantes 1850 - 1913) was painter and pupil of Henri Lehmann. With his brother Charles Leduc (Nantes 1831 - 1911) former student of Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot a French landscape and portrait painter, he establishes his workshop in Nantes.

Famous and well-known Maxime Maufra (Nantes 1861 - 1918) began painting under the guidance of local painters in Nantes such as the brothers Leduc
