Forsythia Along the Highway, Alyson Fendel Breier, Oil on Canvas
The vibrant color patterns in the foreground illuminate this luminous landscape that borrows from the Neo Impressionists in their use of short dabs of contrasting tonalities to create lyrical, pulsating paintings. The application of lavender bridges the bluish sky with the pink highlights of the tree trunks and branches, creating a seamless transition throughout the composition.
Alyson Fendel Breier started painting and exhibiting her work at the age of eight years old, and has continued to do so throughout her lifetime. She studied with, among others, the renown artist, Wolf Kahn in the U.S., as well as with Jerry Fresia in Italy.
She is a member of the National Association of Women Artists and an Associate Member of the Audubon Artists' Society, where sh e received the Clifford Young Memorial Award for Oil Painting. She has exhibited her work at the Art Students League and the Salmagundi Club in New York, as well the Hoadley Gallery in Lenox, Mass.
