Original oil on canvas ‘’The flock's return’’ signed Georges AKA Gaston Ernest Lafenestre, measurements 16 x 12 ¾ inches (circa 1890)

Gaston Lafenestre was born in Melun near Barbizon, student of Charles Emile Jacque, he is one of his most faithful admirers. Following the teaching of Ferdinand Chaigneau , painter of genre, Gaston Ernest Lafenestre especially painted lambs and ewes sensitively and heat, in sheepfolds or in nature with their shepherds, he also represented hunting scenes in the forest of Fontainebleau.

His sendings in the Show were regular from 1866 till 1876
